Metaverse Expected to Contribute $760 Billion to US Economy – Meta Platforms (NASDAQ:META)

According to a study by , the metaverse could contribute as much as $760 billion, or about 2.4%, to the United States’ annual gross domestic product (GDP) by 2035 Meta Platforms Inc (NASDAQ:META). The report predicts Metaverse deployments in defense, medical and manufacturing, as well as entertainment applications such as video gaming and communications. Meta anticipates that the Metaverse will eventually replace mobile as the primary computing platform. Meta focused on building Metaverse technologies in 2021 and invested heavily in the VR department. Although Meta relies heavily on the technology, its Metaverse division reported a $13.7 billion loss in 2022. Metaverse hasn’t caught on as many expected.
