Minister Uno offers digital marketing training to youth in Surabaya

SURABAYA, East Java (ANTARA) – Minister of Tourism and Creative Industries Sandiaga Uno on Thursday offered training on digital marketing to youth, including students and micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).
“The aim of this activity is to provide young entrepreneurs with entrepreneurship and digital marketing skills in opening and creating jobs,” Uno said during an event at Muhammadiyah University (UM) in Surabaya, East Java.
He also motivated the participants to create business opportunities for entrepreneurship.
According to the UN, training young entrepreneurs should help build a stronger economy by creating new jobs and encourage students to acquire digital skills to improve modern communication.
He said that digital technology is having an extraordinary impact on the world.
“The use of digital technology could change the world and create a communication pattern without geographical borders. Thus, digital technology for business practices can accelerate business processes,” he added.
On that occasion, the Minister also provided direct scholarship support to eight winners of the Sandination Scholarship for Entrepreneurship.
The scholarship was given to youngsters to overcome challenges. He emphasized that MSMEs depend on digitization and young people have the urge to create and innovate.
“Not only does this grant help youngsters with learning activities on campus, but with the Kampus Merdeka concept, youngsters can also create content and support MSME sales,” he explained.
Kampus Merdeka is a new initiative by the Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology that aims to give students more freedom and flexibility in their studies.
“Therefore, they will not only get knowledge, but also improve the economy and create jobs,” he added.
Additionally, his group has established an educational collaboration through Superkey Consulting Group (SCG) Sandination, which includes a training grant program, teaching program, leadership, career and business program, internship program and work distribution with UM Surabaya.
