The Wistaverse launched in The Sandbox Open Metaverse as the first global virtual protest platform with real-world impact.
It is a forum to educate the public on concerns, host appearances by influencers and speakers, organize actions and fundraise, enable participation in and conduct mass virtual protests, and provide safe and non-violent alternatives for those who are not being able to participate in real life protests.
The premiere takes place today with the first protest taking place on May 13-14. It will be a rally in support of abortion rights curated by Amnesty International.
The launch of the platform comes at the right time in the so-called “age of mass protests”, in which global problems such as political repression, climate change and economic downturn determine the day and protest has increased by 12% worldwide in 10 years, according to the creators .
Wistaverse founder Grégoire Laugier said in a statement: “Using a virtual avatar and proxy system, Wistaverse can reduce the violence that characterizes protests in the physical world and enable universal inclusion and access to events, regardless of the location of participants in remote areas regions or authoritarian regimes.” .”
The first ever mass abortion rights protest is being organized by Amnesty International and will include key activists and celebrities of the movement to be announced during the event.
The Wistaverse itself is a neutral space that provides a platform for other players to organize and run campaigns on themes of their choice. Human rights organization Amnesty International is behind the platform’s first pro-choice protest.
As part of Amnesty’s efforts to maximize outreach, the company has launched Amnesty HU.RRA, its first non-fungible token (NFT) project, designed to leverage Web3 technology to support abortion rights worldwide . For this event, users can purchase Amnesty’s HURRA NFTs to raise funds for a good cause. Future fundraisers will be amplified using the Wistaverse utility token $WISTA.
Philippe Hensmans, Director of Amnesty International Belgium, said in a statement: “Amnesty International sees the blockchain environment as an opportunity to bring its work to new audiences by tackling topics in a more interactive and decentralized way than ever before.” We are excited Very excited about this collaboration with Wistaverse as it allows us as a brand to envision what will be possible in the years to come to educate and engage new audiences about human rights defense.”
All proceeds from NFT sales are paid directly to AI and other purposes in a decentralized manner through automatic wallet transfer without intermediaries. Payments and plans for the supported protests are documented on the Wistaverse platform and its Discord channel, while user and donor identities remain anonymous.

Wistaverse will make its debut in The Sandbox, a leading decentralized virtual gaming world. Sandbox COO and co-founder Sebastiean Borget said in a statement: “With over 4.5 million registered wallets, having Wistaverse as part of our community ensures that its voices are heard and that diversity and empowerment is at the core of the community.” metaverse remain as we are.” build together. We look forward to seeing our community announce, host and follow social actions to bring about change in the sandbox and beyond in the physical world.”
In addition to extensive social media coverage of the Metaversum protests, other operational digital actions, such as sending out bulk emails or educational content and links to petitions to the stakeholders and decision-makers, are possible depending on community proposals and popular vote which the protest is aimed at.
Eventually, powered by its utility token $WISTA, the Wistaverse code will be fully decentralized, immutable and unstoppable like that of Bitcoin. Its decentralized finance ministry will provide a central pool for funding protests and platform development, powered by a 0.5% fee for transactions on the platform. The Wistaverse strives to be a safe and non-violent forum for protest that is compliant and accountable. Where necessary, the platform will use zero-knowledge evidence that can confirm but not reveal the identity of users to ensure no violent or extremist organizations can abuse the platform to raise funds. The site provides practical information, such as how protesters can protect themselves.
